The Vision of Eagles Wings
It’s the desire of Eagles Wings School of the Heart to raise up a generation of people who are able to live in friendship with Jesus, who know how to flow with the Holy Spirit, and who can be in intimate relationship with the Father, knowing they are deeply loved by Him.
Our aim is to teach and model a lifestyle of dependence on God that is not religious, but demonstrates the goodness, love and power of God in actions as well as words. We are currently running three schools per year that are open to anyone age 18 and older.
Because of the nature of the school, we needed an environment that would be safe for our students, allowing them the security and freedom to engage with God on matters of the heart, and at the same time, be restful, peaceful and relaxed enough to provide a place where people can be open to grow and relate. We found Lox Lane Farm the ideal place for a school of this nature.
The History of Lox Lane Farm
Lox Lane Farm is owned and run by Father’s House shaftesbury and is set amid beautiful surroundings in the heart of the north Dorset countryside, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beautiful farmhouse and courtyard have been converted into a conference centre, maintaining many of the original features.
Formerly part of the estate of the Duke of Westminster, Lox Lane Farm was acquired by the Father’s House in 1990 after it had fallen into disrepair. A huge renovation process took place, converting many of the farm buildings into a series of private rooms/flats with the intention of becoming a place where those who needed ‘space to breathe’ could come and find refuge.
This was very successful, yet there was a growing sense that a change was needed; Lox Lane Farm was still to be a place where people find rest and healing, but in a different way. Rather than have people living there all the time, it was decided to make it a ‘Christian Encounter Centre,’ a place where people could come for a weekend or a few days and meet with God in a special way.
Over the last few years, Lox Lane Farm has hosted two international schools that ran for a month and five one-week schools, all with the focus of leading people into a greater degree of sonship and the healing of life’s hurts. From these weeks, it was realised the need for more schools of this nature and with the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Eagles Wings School of the Heart was birthed.
Lox Lane Farm is situated close to both Gillingham and Shaftesbury, with easy road and rail access, ten minutes from the A303 and five minutes from Gillingham train station.
