history and vision

Lox Lane Farm is set amid beautiful surroundings in the heart of the North Dorset countryside, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Formerly part of the estate of the Duke of Westminster the beautiful farmhouse and courtyard have been converted into a conference centre, maintaining many of the original features. It is situated close to both Gillingham and Shaftesbury with easy road and rail access, 10 minutes from the A303 and 5 minutes from Gillingham train station.

Lox Lane farm was acquired by New Covenant Church Shaftesbury with the intent to become a place where those who needed ‘space to breathe’ could come and find refuge. This was very successful yet there was a sense that a change was needed; it was still to see people find rest and healing, but in a different way. Rather than have people living there all the time, it was decided to make it a ‘Christian Encounter Centre’, a place where people could come for a weekend, or a few days and meet with God in a special way.

Over the last few years we have hosted two international schools that ran for a month and five one week schools, all with the focus of leading people into a greater degree of sonship and the healing of lifes hurts.
From these weeks we realised the need for more schools of this nature and with the prompting of the Holy Spirit Eagles Wings – school of the heart has been birthed.

The aim of Eagles Wings – school of the heart is to provide a place where a generation can rise up and live in friendship with Jesus, where they can flow with the Holy Spirit and in intimate relationship with the Father, knowing they are deeply loved by Him. We look to teach and model a lifestyle of dependence on God that is not religious, but demonstrates the goodness, love and power of God in actions as well as words. We will run three schools a year with three flavours, one will have an youth/18-30′s emphasis, one will have a leadership emphasis and one will have a general emphasis – all are open to everyone.
